Synopsis
Road 79 is a psychological, metaphysical novel that follows a writer drawn into the extraordinary testimony of Dilek, a woman whose life unfolds at the intersection of trauma, memory, and the unexplained.
The story begins in London, where the writer meets Dilek, who insists on telling her life story without embellishment or restraint. What follows is a layered narrative moving between past and present, gradually revealing a life shaped by both visible and invisible forces.
Dilek’s childhood in Istanbul is marked by an early sense of otherness, night awakenings, vivid and disorienting dreams, and an intuitive awareness she cannot explain. In early adulthood, Dilek relocates to London in search of a new beginning. She builds a stable life, pursuing education, forming relationships, and eventually marrying and starting a family. However, her attempts at normalcy are repeatedly disrupted by recurring stronger metaphysical events.
